Due Thursday

Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:

In previous weeks, you spent time developing various kinds of creative writing. You focused on images and events not designed to be taken as reality. As you’ve written short stories, poetries, and plays, you’ve imagined places, events, conversations, and characters that (though perhaps inspired by reality) are made-up. Different modes of writing can also cross over and influence each other. This week, your focus will be on creative nonfiction. This means that you’ll write about reality (as you see it), but through a creative approach. So far in this class, you have learned how to use powerful images, tap into universal human emotions, relay exciting sequences of events, and string together details in pursuit of a common theme.

What do you see as the primary differences among fiction, nonfiction, and creative nonfiction? Why might creative non-fiction appeal more to the average reader?

Due Monday

Reply to at least 2 of your classmates. Be constructive and professional in your responses.
