As we enter Week 3, we will investigate solutions and their basic characteristics.
What are some examples of both acids and bases in your kitchen? At the molecular level, what causes something to be an acid as opposed to a base? There are currently many health food products that make claims based on acidity. Consider alkaline water, for example. What exactly does this mean? What might be different about this water than normal water? Use your understanding of acids and bases from this week to justify your answer.
