BSA 425 Wk 3 – Apply: Summative Assessment: Project Plan Revisions with Supporting Research (Rationale)

Conducting research and preparing a report on the supporting information for your project serves two important purposes:

  • The researched report helps explain your choice of technologies in terms of business benefits and risks. This supported rationale is critical for executive approval.
  • A report reinforces or improves your plan—but only if you apply the results of your research to your plan. In the industry, project managers develop their plans iteratively, revising them as they conduct more research and identify better or cheaper alternatives. This iterative approach is especially relevant to IT projects because new technologies are developed and retired quickly.

This week, you are conducting research that provides additional information to support your project. Complete the following:

  1. Conduct further research related to your project concerning:
  2. Industry trends and history
  3. Top technology vendors
  4. Project management approaches
  5. Development and deployment approaches
  6. Analyses of impact and risks. You may want to include Forbes and Harvard Business Review in your list of organizations to research.
  7. Detail your research findings in the Supporting Research Report template. Note: Do not delete any section in the template.
  8. Based on your research, identify 3 improvements in the second draft of the Project Plan you would recommend for the project.
  9. Develop a second draft of your project plan that incorporates your recommendations.
  10. Highlight the 3 improvement changes in yellow.
  11. Include a statement to explain why you made the 3 improvement

Submit your (1) Supporting Research Report and (2) your second draft of the Project Plan.
