Review the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD) Multicultural Counseling Competencies, and assess your strengths and weaknesses in relation to these competencies.

Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:

  • How might a client’s cultural identity influence their motivation to change?

  • Which of the AMCD competencies will be a challenge to you when treating clients dealing with addiction diagnoses? Why?

  • What strategies can you pursue to address the competencies that are a challenge to you?
