You are a leader in a global organization and have been asked to make a presentation to the Board of Directors about the importance of a diversity-conscious organization.

 

Create an 8- to 10-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation.

 

Identify the following:

  • The characteristics of diversity-conscious leaders
  • The differences between individualistic and collectivistic societies when communicating globally, including virtual communication
  • How technological changes influence diversity in leadership
  • How to improve diversity consciousness within the workplace Note. Offer specific steps/strategies for improvement.

 

Include a concluding slide with a list of reference materials used from the text or outside sources.

 

Optional – Enable the text-to-speech feature on your presentation for Online and Directed Study students. 

 

Present the Leader of a Global Organization Presentation and answer questions from your instructor or classmates.

  • For Online and Directed Study students, these are Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentations with notes.

 

Format your assignment according to appropriate course level APA guidelines.

 

PowerPoint Rubrics

 

Content and Organization                                                                                     40%

First slide – Title Slide. Come up with a nice title, add your name and class information.

Second slide – Introduction slide – gives us the three points you will discuss in your presentation.

 

Third through 5th and 6th slides – Body of your PP will be at least 3 to 5 or more slides – each slide will discuss one of the three points from your introduction.

Final slide of the presentation will be a conclusion slide that wraps up the main points.

 

Very last slide will be references in APA formatting.

 

Research slide and APA formatting                                                                                        10%

You will have at least 3 scholarly and credible references both in the presentation and on a reference slide which is after the conclusion.

 

Design, color and font                                                                                                                10%

Use bullet points and short sentences. Do not have large blocks of text, that is too hard to read for the audience. Have an easy to view design and color. Be sure your font is readable and is consistent throughout the PP.

It is best to have light background and dark, easy to view font. The same font used for papers works well.

 

Images                                                                                                                                        5%

Have at least 5 images or graphics that aid with your message and do not take away from the readability.

 

Speakers notes or Voice over

Most of the content of your PP will be in the actual speech. Be sure to develop the content and quote the references in the notes or in the voiceover. You will actually say or write where you would say your references. Substantial speaker’s notes will be a solid paragraph or two of good content.      30%

 

The speaker’s notes will be at the bottom of each slide. There is a place for them at the bottom.

 

Example… According to the Journal of Travel, it is reported that most individuals do not research before going abroad. This is just an example.

 

Preparation and follow directions                                                                                              5%

Your presentation shows the preparation and that you read and followed all directions.
