  • Identify the major challenges with assessment and arts integration.
  • Describe 2 examples of formative assessment strategies for arts-integrated lessons.
  • Explore the Teachers page of the National Gallery of Art website. Identify a lesson plan that contains an element of controversy for the grade level you wish to teach.
  • Why might your local school or community consider the lesson controversial? What could you do to do address that controversy?
  • Why is it important for teachers to modify instructional resources when planning for possible controversial lessons?
