  • While there are many different twists on the theme, practically speaking there are fundamentally only 4 targets on which a tax can be based. These are:
  • (1) Income, (2) Consumption, (3) Asset Investment/Ownership, and (4) Wealth.
  • Choosing one of these, give an example of an actual tax in our nation at the federal, state or local level and describe how it works.
