Due Thursday

Respond to one of the following in a minimum of 100 words. Please indicate in your response which question you are responding to: 1, 2, or 3. Responses that are not at least 100 words will not earn any credit.

Option 1; In your opinion, is the Freedom of Information Act a necessary component to maintaining an open government? Support your response with research.

or

Option 2: Identify exemptions in which an agency is not required to conduct open meetings as contemplated by the Government in the Sunshine Act (1976). Do you believe these exemptions serve important public and private purposes? Explain your answer.

or

Option 3: At least 27 states have taken initiatives to reduce obesity among their residents, particularly in children. These states are concerned with both health and health care costs. One cardiologist involved in the policy making suggested that each taxpayer be weighed at a post office once a year when filing his or her tax return. Those whose weight is normal or who have lost weight over the past year receive a tax break from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS); those who are significantly overweight would pay the standard rates. How might managerial, political, and legal perspectives affect the implementation of this policy? If it were enacted as part of the new health care policy, how might you evaluate its effect?

Due Monday

Reply to the facilitator or two of your classmates. Be constructive and professional in your responses. Replies must be at least 50 words to earn credit.
