If someone came to you and said they wanted to strengthen their heart, what suggestions would you give them? What would be your number one choice of a way to keep blood pressure at a healthy level? Why?

In Week Five we assess the Digestive System.  This begins by learning the anatomical structures that make up the digestive tract. As they are a major part of the part of the digestion process, we also discuss enzymes that complete chemical digestion. Finally, we explore how various malabsorption states can occur due to homeostatic imbalance related to enzyme production.

Consider the reading and activities that you have completed this week.

What can a person do to benefit their digestive health? What can be done to encourage enzyme production? Once a malabsorption state has occurred, what would you suggest be done to address it?
