BIS 221T Wk 2 Discussion – Documentation Style

Post a total of 3 substantive responses over 2 separate days for full participation credit.

Due Thursday

Select your group and please post a good, substantive reply with at least 100 words to one of the following questions (please copy the question’s short title at the top of your reply so we all know what you are replying to) or, on the other hand, post substantive, 100-word replies to our classmates (it’s your choice to post a new reply to the following questions or reply to a classmate instead) The total number of posts in either case must be three 100-word posts for full credit – the first post must be done by Thursday and the other two must be done at most by Monday:

READABILITY: What Word features help with improving the readability of our documents?

SPELLING: How can we check spelling and grammar in Word? What options does this feature have?

IMAGES: How do we insert and format an image into Word? How do we wrap text around it?

FONTS: How can we adjust font attributes through the Font dialog box?

PARAGRAPHS: How can format paragraphs with alignment, background, color, tabs, borders?

STYLE: What is a “Style” in MS Word? How do we create them or update them? How do we use them?

APA HEADERS: What are the APA header and footer requirements? How do we add such headers and footers to a Word document? How do we define different headers and footers for the title page of an APA document?

APA REFERENCES: How can we build a “References” list using Word’s Bibliography feature? How do we then add in-text citations to a Word document?

STANDARDS: Most schools and businesses require some standard style of documentation for written reports. Why might that be? What disadvantages, if any, might there be to insisting that all reports conform to a certain style?

Please remember to post at least three (3) 100-word posts for full credit. Be constructive and professional in your responses.
