BSHS 385 Week 5 Interviews and Technology

Technological changes have impacted health and human service delivery in recent years. Understanding how compliance, security, and confidentiality are impacted by these changes will be paramount as the profession moves further into the 21st century.

Write a paper that demonstrates the following 7 topics.  Write at least one paragraph for each of these 7 topics.  Paragraphs should be at least 40 words.  Make sure to have at least one quote from a source in each paragraph of the paper.  Feel free to use the weekly reading, sources in my class discussion posts or research to find sources.  Tip:  Write down these 7 topics before starting the reading in the required learning activity box.  Look for quotes you can use and make notes while you are doing your reading for the week.  Feel free to use quotes from sources I mention in my class discussion posts.

  1. What are the various types of technology used in health and human services? Think in terms of management information systems, Internet, phone/video conferencing, audio recordings, assistive technologies, spreadsheets, and networking.   (2 points, 0.5 points for at least one referenced quote or paraphrase from a source)

  2. How do health and human service providers use technology for mandated reporting, make direct referrals, and locate and access resources?  (2 points, 0.5 points for at least one referenced quote or paraphrase from a source)

  3. How does technology support client searches and applications for programs and services?  (2 points, 0.5 points for at least one referenced quote or paraphrase from a source)

  4. How does technology bridge clients in rural areas to services and programs?  (2 points, 0.5 points for at least one referenced quote or paraphrase from a source)

  5. What is the compliance standard when using technology in health and human services?  (2 points, 0.5 points for at least one referenced quote or paraphrase from a source)

  6. How does a provider secure private and confidential client information?  (2 points, 0.5 points for at least one referenced quote or paraphrase from a source)

  7. What are a few ethical concerns relating to the use of technology in service delivery?  (2 points, 0.5 points for at least one referenced quote or paraphrase from a source)

Include an introduction paragraph that previews the major points of the paper.  (1 point) And include a conclusion paragraph that reviews the major points of the paper. (1 point) 

use subheadings:  Make sure to put a subheading above each of the 7 sections.  For example ” ethical concerns relating to the use of technology in service delivery ” above the paragraph about ethical concerns relating to the use of technology in service delivery.  (1 point)

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.
