BSHS 439 Week 2 The Many Beliefs of Grief Brochure

Imagine you are among a group of trained volunteers sent to a high school after a tragic loss of life at the school: a drunk driver struck eight students who were driving home from a school dance. Six students died; two survived. The entire student body is feeling the effects of this tragedy.

Counselors are on hand to speak with the student body about the loss, but you need to develop a brochure for the student body as they exit the auditorium to use as a pocket guide. This guide needs to address the loss the students feel and provide emotional assistance to the two surviving students, as outlined by the tenets of loss and grief in your readings and videos in this course.

Create a 6- to 8-panel brochure using Brochure Builder that does the following:

  • Define griefand loss.
  • Describe the stages a person dealing with death may face.
  • Discuss the differences between primary and secondary loss.
  • Discuss societal responses to grief and loss: for example, “Get over it,” or “Don’t talk about grief.”
  • What is the meaning of expected griefand social functioning?

Note. If you use Brochure Builder, save your brochure as a PDF for submission. Alternatively, you may create a brochure using Microsoft® Word or other software.

Format any citations in your brochure consistent with APA guidelines.

Submit your assignment.
