In reviewing a network diagram for your organization, you find that it follows the distribution and access layer model, as shows in Figure 3-1 of the CCNA Routing and Switching ICND2 200-105 Official Cert Guide. You decide to implement the recommendations from the text in terms of making one distribution switch the root and the other the backup.

Write a 2- to 3-page proposal using Microsoft® Word describing how you would implement the configuration. Include the following:

• What commands would you use to change the priority of the first distribution switch? Completely explain why you chose this priority.
• What commands would you use to change the priority of the second distribution switch? Completely explain why you chose this priority.
• In the event of a failure of the first switch, accurately describe the election process that would occur to elect the secondary as the new root.
