When the client is sure that information disclosed during the helping process will be kept in confidence, he or she feels freer to share concerns and issues” (p. 116).

• Describe at least two repercussions for violating a client’s confidentiality.
• Discuss the importance of “duty to warn”.
• Provide an example of when a case manager is required to break confidentiality.
