This week focuses on differentiating math instruction for diverse learners, as well as operations and algebraic thinking. Describe how you would modify instruction to meet the needs of all of your students and address the mathematics concept in the following scenario:

You are a first grade teacher with 25 students. Five of your students are classified as English language learners (ELL), three are diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD, two of whom are currently medicated), and four have been identified as gifted and talented. You are beginning a math lesson on shadows that requires you to take your class outside.
