Review the Integrated Unit Overview.

Develop a project-based, integrated social studies unit that includes the following:

• A 350- to 700-word unit overview in which you describe the unit and how each lesson is relevant to the overall unit objectives
• A minimum of four lessons that
• must include literature, technology, or community resources but do not need to incorporate all of these components;
• are integrated with at least two other curriculum areas, such as language arts, math, science, or the arts, but do not need to integrate with other subject areas;
• The lesson plan created in Week 2, in the Social Studies Lesson Plan individual assignment, as long as it is relevant to the theme of the team unit

Include the following in each of your lesson plans:

• Artifacts, such as historical or cultural items, maps, or primary resources
• Active individual and cooperative learning opportunities or activities
• Differentiated instruction for diverse learners
• Scope and sequence
• Inquiry-based learning methods
• A setup of the learning environment
• Relevant literature
• Web links or other technology resources
• Community resources, such as guest speakers, possible field trips, and materials
• A project-based, cumulative assessment and an assessment tool, such as a rubric or checklist
• Research to support your instructional strategies, assessment practices, and curriculum choices
