Write a journal entry of at least 350 words reflecting on the importance and value of literature. Answer the following in your reflection:

• How is literature important for society?
• How is literature important for the individual?
• How does analyzing literature contribute to this value?

Note. Your journal entries will be graded on two criteria: how well you completed the tasks assigned and how well-written is the journal entry.

• Task completion includes completeness and strength of reasoning. For example, did you answer all of the questions, did you explain your reasoning, and did you give supporting examples?
• Quality of writing will be judged on clarity, organization, and mechanics. As this is a journaling exercise, you are not expected to adhere to any style guides for formatting; however, any outside citations you choose to include must be cited properly.
