Applied Linguistics Final Learning Team Project

Select one of the following topics or subdisciplines in the field of linguistics. You may select a topic or a subdiscipline not on these lists, but you must obtain instructor approval before beginning the assignment.

Write a 1,400- to 1,750-word paper in which you analyze the effect of linguistics on society. Include the following components in your paper:

• Identify your topic or subdiscipline.
• Analyze how this topic or subdiscipline influences society.
• Describe how this topic or subdiscipline is studied in the field of linguistics.
• List two major scholars in this field of study.
• Explain how linguistic knowledge of this topic or subdiscipline is applied to at least two the following areas of life:

• Education
• Work
• Family
• Personal development

• Recommend changes to improve any negative issues associated with the topic or subdiscipline in the field of linguistics.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Create a Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation of 8 to 10 slides that presents the highlights of your research, as if you needed to present your finding quickly in a team meeting at work. Use photos, illustrations, graphs, diagrams, and so forth, as appropriate.
