As part of many business relationships we find that there are contractual agreements whether implied or express.  For good business practice, most business owners put together a contract that includes several clauses (expectations for both parties for example, payment, what happens if payments are not received, etc.). Examples of contracts in your everyday life include cell phone contracts, loan agreements (car, rent, mortgage), or a cable/satellite agreements.  Think as business owners and complete the following:

• Create/Draft a 3-5 sentence contract clause regarding one of the following areas:

  • Dispute Resolution Clause

OR

• Intellectual Property (IP) Clause regarding ownership of IP

• Explain any legal issues regarding the selected clause
• How the team’s contract clause can be applied in a business managerial setting for either a personal, real, or IP dispute or an IP property clause regarding either owner of IP or trade secrets.
• In the event the contract was breached, what might be the best possible remedies for this and why?
