Choose a creation myth from one culture and study it in your online text book, World Mythology. This text has readable, easily understood stories and provides a good starting point. Research your chosen myth in several sources to study similarities and differences in the telling of the tale. Such sources could include Google, You Tube (under Creation Myths), and animated versions in your resource, Big Myths.

Write a 2-3 page paper, with a title page, that incorporates elements of the following questions:

Which culture did it come from?

• Summarize the creation myth you chose.
• Why do you think cosmic or creation myths are important to a culture, past and present?
• What does the myth you chose tell you about the culture that created it?
• Why is there such a focus on cosmic occurrences or natural phenomena like stars, moons, floods, rain, etc.?
