Resource: Technology Resource Library located in the College of Education Resources

As a group, decide on a three-dimensional shape.

Individually, build a three-dimensional shape.

Take pictures of your shape during the different stages of the building process, and take a picture of the final shape.

Share your shapes within your group. Discuss how each group member’s shape was similar or different.

Locate an architectural landmark (monument, building, etc.) that is a real-world example of your shape.

Note: Local Campus students must bring their shape with them to class.

Prepare at least three questions to be presented to the class for problem solving. The questions must encourage students to review the following concepts: perimeter; volume; surface area; and the number of vertices, faces, and edges associated with the three-dimensional shape.

Present a 12- to 15-slide presentation using Microsoft® PowerPoint® or another technology presentation tool of your choice with faculty approval.

  • For Local Campus students, these are 10- to 15-minute oral presentations accompanied by Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentations or other presentation tool approved by faculty.
  • For Online and Directed Study students, these are Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentations with notes or other presentation tool approved by faculty.

Include the following in your presentation:

  • How your shape was built
  • Pictures of the shape for online students or the physical shape for local campus students
  • List of questions
  • Solutions to questions, and the rationale for creating the questions
  • References formatted according to APA guidelines

Present your questions to the class.

Note: Online Learning Teams will post their questions.
