MTH 214 Week 5 Curriculum Night
Curriculum night is fast approaching. You are required to share with parents the math concepts and skills that will be taught during the school year. Your school has an expectation that parents will help students with their homework each week. Based on your learning experience in MTH/213 and MTH/214, how could you present these math concepts to parents in a way that is understandable to parents?
Prepare a 15- to 20-minute presentation for parents using a presentation tool in the Technology Resource Library. Include the following in your presentation:
- Choose three of the major mathematical concepts of MTH/214.
- Explain how these concepts are relevant to student learning.
- Include a manipulative that could be used for a hands-on activity for each concept.
- Explain how these concepts build on the skills and concepts learning in MTH/213.
Determine how the course concepts have influenced your ideas and philosophy of teaching.
