MTH 215 Week 3 Unit 3A, Uses and Abuses of Percentages

Unit 3A gives you an in-depth look at percentages. You learn about conversions between percentages and fractions as well as absolute and relative change. You also learn how to use percentages for comparisons which includes absolute and relative differences. In addition, you will familiarize yourself with the meanings of tricky verbiage that is often found in math problems such as of versus more than. Finally, this reading will introduce you to some common abuses of percentages.
