Controversial issues or questions related to gender:

  1. Is what was called Gender Dysphoria Disorder actually a disorder?  Explain.

  2. What contributes to transgenderism?

  3. Are men and women really any different in any way other than physically?

  4. What roles do (or should) mothers and fathers play in the family?

  5. Can parents raise a “gender free” or “gender neutral” child, and is there value in doing so, why or why not?

  6. Choose an identifiable culture or cultural group that holds views of men and women that you disagree with.  Research those views and where they stem from.  Share your findings in a factual, non-biased way.

  7. The discrepancy between men’s and women’s pay and the reasons for it. Or, Is there a real discrepancy between men’s and women’s pay?

  8. Identify a controversial question or issue related to gender, gain approval on it, research it and share your findings in a factual, non-biased way.

Each team member should choose a topic or question, then choose a clear position, stance, or side, research it and share your findings in a short answer format.  This is what your paper should look like:

When I am done reading this assignment I should have NO CLUE as to what anyone’s personal opinions or feelings on any of these issues or questions are.  This is a research assignment, not a personal opinion assignment.  I actually encourage you to look for credible research that contradicts your personal opinion and share that, but because this assignment will be presented so objectively I will not be able to tell if you did seek research contrary to your opinion, or not.

You MUST use peer reviewed journal articles or textbooks.  Each person must include at least one source (or two if one is the current text for this course).  Each person must cite their resource/s in proper APA format at the end of their paragraph sharing their findings.
