As part of the No Child Left Behind Act states are required to measure every child’s progress in reading and math each year. Imagine that you are a member of a committee in your school district. What criteria would you use to select a formal reading assessment to be used district wide? What are the pros and cons of using a uniform assessment across a district or state? Explain and provide specific examples to support your response.
