Explore the Education Northwest website for information on the 6+1 Trait® Writing Model of Instruction & Assessment.

Individually, collect 2 writing samples from a kindergarten, first-, second-, or third-grade student. Each sample should be an example of writing for a different purpose (persuade, inform, entertain, etc.).

Share your samples with your team and discuss each team member’s samples.

Select one team member’s writing samples for scoring.

Score the writing samples independently using a rubric.

Write a 350- to 700-word reflection that compares and contrasts each team member’s scoring results.
