COMM 315 Wk 3 – Personal Action Plan

The travel ban is lifted and you can go visit the country you have always wanted to. For this assignment, you will chose a country you would like to visit and write about the country, their culture and how you will prepare for your travels.

Write a 2 to 3 page paper on the country you would like to travel to.

• What country did you chose and why?
• Describe the country’s culture and how it is different than the one you are used to.
• Describe what may be similar about the country’s culture and people.
• How might you need to change to fit in to the culture? For example, you might take a lot of public transportation or driving on the opposite side of the road.
• Research 3 credible sources that help you with your trip. This can include a state or country website, travel information, facts, information about the country and other credible info and sources.
• Your references will be used both in-text and on a reference page in APA.

This is an academic paper and will be graded as such.

Be sure to:

Have a cover page in APA.

Have set margins.

Paragraphs of 4 to 8 sentences that guide the reader.

An introduction, body and conclusion.

Good writing, grammar and spelling.

Include interesting facts and information.

Reference page in APA.

Develop a personal action plan while considering the above questions. Include in your personal action plan your own cultural awareness and your plan for a personal strategy for your own diversity consciousness.

Share this experience with the class, and be prepared to discuss other students’ experiences.

Format your assignment according to appropriate course level APA guidelines.

Cover Page in APA. Come up with a nice title, not just “My Paper.”

Introduction paragraph – give the reader a map of your paper to include the points you will be discussing.

Body of your paper will offer developed paragraph and will follow the map you offered in the introduction. Each paragraph will be approximately 4 to 8 sentences.

Conclusion of your points to wrap them up in a paragraph of 4 to 8 sentences.

Content is key to a successful paper– Your paper will offer good content in the way of facts, information, developed points, use of research, insights and experiences. Be sure to develop your writing with good content just as you would for any academic paper.

Reference page in APA – all references used in-text will be included.

You will have at least 3 scholarly and credible references both in the page and on a reference page in APA formatting. Your paper needs to follow all APA guidelines.

Good Writing and Grammar                                                                                                                       10%

Be sure to edit your paper to correct grammar and spelling errors. It is best to run any written assignment through the Center for Writing Excellence (CWE).

Preparation and following directions                                                                                                  10%

A successful written assignment will show the preparation and that you read and followed all directions.
