As an early childhood educator, you will encounter students in your classroom who may need to be referred for special services or who will require interventions. The process and procedures for initiating special education services and recognizing other diverse learning needs is not always easy, but it may benefit the student in the long run.

 

Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:

  • What are the first steps you would take if you have a student that you are concerned about?

  • What will your role as a classroom teacher be in this process?

  • What part of the process are you most and least comfortable with? Why?
