ECH 400 Wk 4 Team – Family Engagement Presentation

Partnering with families in their child’s education may be one of the most important facets of being an early childhood educator. And just as it may be important to “hook” children on learning early, it may be just as important to “hook” families on participating in their child’s education. Effective family-professional educator partnerships are built on each individual’s expertise and available resources with the goal of supporting the well-being of the child. For this assignment, you will work with your learning team to research the best practices for engaging the families of early childhood learners.

Create a 10- to 12-slide presentation that details the best practices for engaging the families of early childhood learners. Include the following topics in your presentation:

  • Characteristics of effective family-professional educator partnerships
  • Strategies for establishing or maintaining partnerships with families
  • Methods for positively communicating with families when reporting assessment results
  • A parent or caregiver’s role in assessment
  • Strategies for effective parent or caregiver conferences

Include the following elements in your presentation:

  • Title/Introduction slide
  • Slide style that complements content
  • Minimum of 2 functional components (e.g., audio or video clip, visual graphic, or link)

Note: It is not required, but you may want to add your team’s resource to your Comprehensive Assessment Binder for future reference.

Submit the team assignment.
