You have been asked to collaborate with the other fourth-grade teachers at Washington Elementary School to develop at least 1 thematic unit for the remainder of the school year. The thematic unit must cover the state and national standards in science, and must incorporate technology, engineering, and math, as well as inquiry teaching.

Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words in preparation for developing your thematic unit:

  • Choose a subject – how do you plan to integrate other subject areas with science to provide authentic learning experiences?

  • What are some specific examples of cross-curricular connections you plan to include in your thematic unit?

  • How do you plan to assess learning before, during, and after instruction?
