Soil is a complex structure. In order to understand the complexity of soil dynamics, we need to understand the basics of environmental management, how plants, animals, and precipitation interact, and future problems and opportunities of water and food. Please respond to one or more of the following, applying to local concerns and situations as much as possible.

What are the relationships between plants, animals, and precipitation? Do you think that U.S. agriculture is on a sustainable path for the future? If so, discuss your answer. If not, discuss the the types of changes that are needed to make it more sustainable.
