• What criteria would you use to select an effective screening assessment?
• List and describe some examples of screening assessments you would use for grades K–3 to identify students with potential reading problems. What screening assessments would you use for students in grades 4–8?
• What next steps might you take with students who are flagged by a reading screening assessment? Why would you take those steps?
• How would you communicate to parents about their child who is struggling with literacy?
