CMGT 557 Wk 1 Discussion – Megatrends
Post a total of 3 substantive responses over 2 separate days for full participation. This includes your initial post and 2 replies to classmates or your faculty member.
Resource: Ch. 1, “Managing in the Digital World,” of Information Systems Today: Managing the Digital World discusses five IT megatrends.
Initial Response (Due Thursday): This week our focus is the five megatrends – mobile, social media, internet of things, cloud computing, and big data. Your initial response must be a minimum of 175 words and address the following:
- Select the megatrend that you feel is most influential in business today
- Describe what the megatrend is,
- Describe how the megatrend is used (give some practical, real-world examples), and
- Defend why the megatrend is the most influential.
In your initial response, please utilize at least one reference from an academic and/or trade journal (in-text citations and reference list) and be mindful of proper spelling, grammar, and scholarly tone.
Two substantive replies (Due Monday): In your responses to your peers, address any thoughts you have on their selected megatrend and how this trend could be influential to the different business sectors and impact business today.
