Background:  You are an IT leader. You are faced with significant pressure to save money, stay competitive, and generate greater profits. For you to be successful in your IT leadership role, you must address the difficult decisions related to outsourcing and off-shoring.

One substantive initial post response is due on Thursday. The post must be a minimum of 175 words and address the following:

This week our focus is on digital transformation. In your initial post, as an IT leader, you need to identify ways of cutting costs, remaining competitive, and generating greater profits. In your post, cover the following content:

• What is outsourcing? Provide an example.
• What is off-shoring? Provide an example.
• Discuss the pros and cons of both outsourcing and off-shoring.
• If you had to make a decision to outsource or off-shore work, how would you introduce this to your staff so as to reduce speculation and keep staff calm through the transition?
