    3. Select your state.
    4. Select your state’s Department of Education.
    5. Locate the Assessment section of your state’s Department of Education website.

Review what is happening in your state with assessment.

Identify the information and support your state provides for classroom teachers in regards to assessment.

Write a 700- to 1,050-word paper on your personal thoughts and experiences regarding assessments and your state’s assessment expectations. If possible, investigate and include the assessment expectations at your local school or school district.

Include one paragraph on each of the following:

  • Regarding assessment, describe one positive personal experience.
  • Regarding assessment, describe one negative personal experience.
  • Based on your educational experiences, what is the purpose of assessment?
  • Based on your educational experiences, what is the value of assessment?
  • What is your opinion about the assessments administered in schools today?
  • How do your personal thoughts about assessment compare to your state’s assessment expectations? If possible, investigate and include the assessment expectations at your local school or school district.

Include at least one of the articles you found in the Assessment Article Scavenger Hunt.

Create an infographic that you might use with parents to explain your approach to assessment and how that approach to assessment supports your state’s assessments.

Format your paper according to APA guidelines.
