Research, individually, your local, state, and national standards for one of the developmental levels: K-2, 3-5, or 6-8. Review all five social studies strands, including scope and sequence, if available.

Share your local and state standards with your Learning Team.

Select one social studies content area from one state to examine.

Create a graphic organizer in which your team compares local, state, and national standards. Represent all three developmental levels in the organizer.

Create a 5- to 7-slide presentation in a presentation format approved by your instructor that includes your graphic organizer.

Address the following in your presentation:

• Describe the major disciplines of social studies.
• Define the thematic strands of social studies standards.
• Explain how the different strands and developmental levels are interrelated.
• Explain what you learned from your graphic organizer in relation to local, state, and national standards.
