PSY 280 Week 2 Learning to Care for your Infant

Assume the role of a developmental psychologist who has been asked to provide advice to a new parent via a professional memo that is a minimum of 350-500 words in length. In your memo, be sure to address the following items:

• Provide a list of three recommended activities that would positively influence the infant’s future development. Specifically, choose one recommendation that clearly supports the infant’s physical development, another that supports cognitive development and a third that supports social-emotional development.  If necessary, provide a time frame within the lists.
• Provide an explanation of why you selected each activity and how it can contribute to the future development of the child. Be sure that your explanation is based on developmental research or concepts we’ve learned thus far.

Format your memo consistent with APA guidelines, providing citations and references when necessary. Use your text to inform and support your recommendations.  You may also refer to the Sample Business Memo under the Materials section to assist you with proper formatting.
