Arizona’s English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) were revised in 2019 to better align with the state’s academic standards. This week, you will focus on standards 9 and 10. It may seem odd to focus on these last two standards before focusing on standards 1–8; however, standards 9 and 10 are the language (vocabulary/grammar) standards designed to support standards 1–8.

Access the 2019 English Language Proficiency Standards and choose a grade level band (K, 1, 2-3, or 4-5) to review. Refer to standards 9 and 10.

Review pages 10 and 11 in the 2019 English Language Proficiency Standards Guidance Document concerning proficiency levels.

Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:
